Take the next step in your investigator journey
The classroom programme takes place on 30 September and 1 October 2026 at the Wits Health Consortium, Parktown. The programme fee is R5,500 excluding VAT, with group discounts available by negotiation. A valid GCP certificate is required for enrolment.
What separates an experienced researcher from a Principal Investigator who is trusted to lead studies, teams and scientific partnerships?
Becoming a successful Principal Investigator requires more than understanding GCP and knowing how to conduct a protocol. It requires the confidence to assess whether a study is right for your site, navigate regulatory and financial responsibilities, protect participants, lead a research team, safeguard data integrity and engage as a credible scientific partner.
The Clinical Research Education Programme (CREP) – The Investigator Journey is designed specifically for current and future Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators and senior research personnel who are ready to strengthen these capabilities and progress their role within clinical research.
Eight questions every modern investigator should be able to answer
Rather than approaching investigator development as a series of theoretical topics, CREP structures the learning journey around eight practical questions that investigators encounter as their responsibilities grow.
These range from
“Should my site conduct this study?” and
“How do I protect participants?” to
“How do I ensure my data are trustworthy?”,
“How do I lead a high-performing research team?” and ultimately,
“How do I become a trusted scientific leader and strategic partner?”
Learning designed for application
The programme combines a two-day interactive classroom experience with expert industry presenters and practical insights, followed by eight self-paced eLearning modules.
Delegates then demonstrate their competence through a practical Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) and assessments for each eLearning module, leading to Programme certification.
If your next career step is not simply to participate in research, but to confidently lead it, CREP provides a structured pathway to get there.
